* The Triple C - Checklist of Communication Competencies

The Triple C is a screening checklist designed for use in assessing the communication skills of adolescents and adults who have severe or profound disabilities. The package includes a manual, 10 checklist forms and a teaching video/DVD.

The manual includes information on communication stages and instructions on how to score the checklist. The video presents scenarios that highlight the skills and abilities seen in the first six stages of communication development.

Extra packets of checklists (x20) are available.

* InterAACtion: Strategies for Intentional and Unintentional Communicators

The InterAACtion Manual is the sequel to the Triple C - Checklist of Communication Competencies. It is designed for people who work with adults who have complex communication needs. These are adults who have little or no functional speech and limited communication.

The InterAACtion Manual provides a framework for introducing a variety of communication strategies to assist functional communication and extend or develop skills, where appropriate. It contains over 30 individualised communication strategies as handouts, which can be photocopied. The handouts include information about the strategy, who might use it, how to develop it, how to implement it and how to adapt it for people with different communication skills. The worksheets are designed to assist communication partners to learn to observe communication skills and needs, and make decisions about appropriate communication strategies.

The InterAACtion Video/DVD shows adults who are Intentional and Unintentional communicators in real life scenarios.
The communication strategies demonstrated are designed to match the individual's skills and needs and can be easily incorporated into every day activities. These scenarios are presented in the manual with accompanying work-sheets (also available for photocopying).

The InterAACtion Kit provides examples of the communication aids and resource materials that are presented in the manual InterAACtion: Strategies for Intentional and Unintentional Communicators. The kit also contains edited versions of the handouts from the InterAACtion manual.

The InterAACtion Kit – CD is designed to help you to create your own examples of the communication aids and resource materials that are outlined in the InterAACtion manual.
Resources in the kit and CD are useful for training and display and are available in a pdf format. Some of the examples have templates in Word format to allow you to adapt for individuals.

* Activities for Everyone - Art and Craft

This activity book provides practical, easy to follow instructions for 20 creative activities. Activity analysis provides the reader with the opportunity to tailor each step of the activity to suit an individual's skills and preferences. There are plenty of tips, easy to make equipment, and associated activity ideas that further extend the number of activities provided in the book.

* CHAT-Now

Chat-Now is a resource package designed to enable busy professionals to use aided language stimulation with young children (pre-school age) who have complex communication needs.

* COMPIC

COMPIC is a set of computer-generated line drawings. The software allows the user to access over 1,700 pictographs in colour or black and white. COMPIC pictographs are based in international symbol convention and represent a wide range of concepts, activities and objects.

COMPIC Publishing Software is available as a CD-ROM that installs directly on to your computer. It is compatible for use with Boardmaker™ and other pictographic sets such as PCS (Picture Communication Symbols) and Softpics™.

* Communication Bill of Rights Poster

This poster has been created around 12 basic rights, using COMPIC™ pictographs to convey the message of each concept. These concepts have been adapted from a USA initiative which involved writing a Communication Bill of Rights specifically aimed at people with complex communication needs.

* IFCI - (The Inpatient Functional Communication Interview) Picture Based Resources Kit

The IFCI is an assessment tool to assist speech pathologists working in the acute hospital setting support people with communication needs to communicate as successfully as possible with their healthcare providers in everyday hospital interactions. This supplementary kit is a set of picture-based resources specifically designed to match the IFCI questions including magnetic boards and a manual has been developed to extend the usefulness of the IFCI and explore the potential of picture-based communication in facilitating communication with people with different types of communication disabilities.
*NB: Kits are made to order so there will be a waiting period.
A CD ROM is also available which allows you to develop your own picture-based IFCI resources. The example files are in a pdf format but can be adapted by using Boardmaker™ software.

* Nursery Rhymes to Sing See and Sign

Nursery Rhymes to Sing See and Sign are FREE downloadable, web-based communication resources for ALL young children. It includes resources for 14 favourite Nursery Rhymes. It has a particular focus on communication strategies known to help communication and language development in children with communication difficulties.
