Advanced Boardmaker

This practical workshop is for people who can already use Boardmaker for Windows Version 5 software ™ (Mayer-Johnson 2001) at a basic level but would like to further develop their skills. Participants will have the opportunity to use Boardmaker for Windows Version 5 software™ during the workshop, to practice skills learned during workshop.

Prerequisites:

• Intermediate computer skills
• A knowledge of Boardmaker for Windows Version 5 software™
• An interest in working with people who would benefit from the use of picture-based communication aids and materials.

Who attends:

Therapists, teachers, instructors, disability support workers, integration aides, parents, family members, volunteers, anyone who works or lives with children or adults who have complex communication needs and may benefit from the use of picture-based communication aids and materials.

Competencies Gained:

Participants will:

• Be able to fully edit grids and cells using Boardmaker for Windows Version 5 software™
• Be able to import images from other sources (eg photos, web images) into Boardmaker for Windows Version 5 software™
• Be able to customise symbols to 'new' symbols and save into Boardmaker for Windows Version 5 software™
