Assessment Referral Form
GoKids is an initiative of the specialist services division of Scope.
It provides advice and assistance regarding mobility-related issues
for children and young people with multiple and physical disabilities.
It is designed to complement rather than duplicate existing services.
GoKids undertakes individual equipment assessment and prescription,
and assists with funding applications. GoKids also incorporates the
Hart Walker program.
What does GoKids provide?
GoKids can provide :
- A workable solution to mobility-related needs
- An equipment prescription including quotes
- Assistance with funding applications for equipment prescribed by GoKids
- Training in the safe use of the equipment
- A report to the family and primary therapist
Who can use GoKids?
The following people can use GoKids :
- Children and young people who do not have a primary therapist able to assist them in the selection of
appropriate mobility aids
- Therapists who require consultation with experienced staff to problem-solve equipment prescription and
funding-related issues
What types of mobility aids?
GoKids has the following mobility aids :
- A wide range of mobility aids and devices will be available for assessment and demonstration
- The Hart Walker program is part of this service
- A variety of standing-frames are also available
- We cater for the needs of children and young people with all levels of support
Who provides assistance?
GoKids is staffed by experienced physiotherapists and an orthotist.
