Therapy, Training, Consultancy

Current Project work that the B.A.S. is undertaking

Scope was approached by Museum Victoria and successfully tendered for a project to conduct an access audit of the Melbourne Museum in Carlton. The Museum was keen to consider the needs of people with a range of disabilities at different life stages.

Scope's Building Advisory Service will conduct an assessment of the building for its accessibility for people with disabilities.

Scope's Communication Resource Centre is assessing the Museum's use of language in its signage and information brochures which will assist all visitors to the Museum, including those for whom English is a second language

RVIB has joined with Scope to give an assessment with consideration of the specific needs of people with a vision impairment.

We hope that through the recommendations that are made, people of all abilities will be able to access, find their way and appreciate their visit to the Museum with greater ease.

The project team will also be encouraging the Museum to consider disability awareness training for staff and receiving further feedback from a wide diversity of users.
