Our services include:

Individual Gastrostomy or Jejunostomy Support Plans

Gastrostomy Information & Support Service (GISS) is now able to develop individual Gastrostomy or Jejunostomy Support Plans. The completed plan will be presented as an A4 laminated support plan.

These support plans are suited to use in the home, school, respite and other service providers.

In developing the plan, information will be gathered from family, health professionals and support services to ensure the plan best meets the needs of the person, as well as the staff who support them.

These support plans are intended for use by families and staff who have had appropriate gastrostomy/jejunostomy training.

Client Specific Workplace Assessment

The GISS Training and Assessment Cert IV assessor is able to undertake workplace assessments of staff supporting a person who has a gastrostomy or jejunostomy.

This assessment is available to those who have successfully completed the competency based Gastrostomy Support Workshop. A written report is provided to the employer and sharing with the staff member is recommended.

Staff Workplace Supervision/Review

GISS is able to enter into a contract to provide regular supervision and review of workplace practices related to the support of a person who has a gastrostomy or jejunostomy. A written report is provided to the employer and sharing with the staff member is recommended.

Gastrostomy/Jejunostomy Support Workshop

GISS continues to deliver this highly regarded competency based workshop which covers all aspects of support and assistance when supporting a person with gastrostomy or jejunostomy. All participants undertake assessment of both the theory and practice.

This workshop is offered in two ways:

Nasogastric Support Workshop

Nasogastric tube support training can be delivered as a stand alone workshop or as an add on to the popular Gastrostomy/Jejunostomy Support Workshop.
