Breaking down the barriers to voting

If you have a disability that means that you would normally need assistance to get to a voting centre or to vote, the Victorian Electoral Commission would appreciate your involvement in a research project.

Voting is your right - but people with a disability can face barriers to enrolling and voting.  These barriers can be physical, such as difficult access to a voting centre, or they can be related to information and attitudes.  The VEC has appointed a market research company, Colmar Brunton, to research these barriers and ideas for improving accessibility.

If you would like to participate in a short telephone interview with Colmar Brunton about your views and experience of enrolling and voting, please contact them on 1800 211 950 between Monday 8 and Sunday 21 September (12.30 – 8.30 pm).  Your feedback will be anonymous, and will lead to better electoral services for Victorians with a disability.
