About the collection
Scope Information Centre is a specialist service used by professionals,
staff, families and clients of the organisation. The collection has
particular strengths in the subject areas of cerebral palsy, physical
and multiple disabilities, sensory integration, speech and augmentative
and alternative communication. Our collection consists of books, journals,
audio visual and multi media material.
The Information Centre is concerned with effective information retrieval and equitable access to information
across social, economic, geographic and educational barriers.
The Internet, new communication technologies, government online strategies and electronic commerce are
driving a massive change in the way the community seeks information and receives services. While attempting to
meet these new community needs we aim to ensure clients, families, professionals and the general community can
access our resources as quickly, easily, and cost-effectively as possible.
Infocat, our
online catalogue, is a joint venture between, Scope, Yooralla
and Family Planning Victoria libraries.
