IFCI - (The Inpatient Functional Communication Interview) Picture Based Resources Kit
The IFCI is an assessment tool to assist speech pathologists working in the acute hospital setting. It aims to support people with communication needs to communicate as successfully as possible with their healthcare providers in everyday hospital interactions.
This supplementary kit is a set of picture-based resources specifically designed to match the IFCI questions. It includes magnetic boards. A manual has been developed to extend the usefulness of the IFCI and explore the potential of picture-based communication in facilitating communication with people with different types of communication disabilities.

A CD ROM is also available which allows you to develop your own picture-based IFCI resources. The example files are in a pdf format but can be adapted by using Boardmaker software.
