Inclusion Support Program - Hume region

This program supports the access and participation of children in their local kindergartens, preschools and child care programs. Services include:

Kindergarten Inclusion Support Services Program for Children with Severe Disabilities (KISS)

• Provides specialist training for kindergarten staff to support children’s access and participation
• Provides additional resources to support the child to participate at kindergarten 
• Provides additional staffing supports (Scope Additional Assistants)
• Funds and coordinates minor building modifications (ramps, grip rails, lifting aids and other relevant equipment)

Early Years Development Advisers (also known as the Preschool Field Officers Program)

• Supports and assists families and kindergarten staff by providing:
      Advice about children’s developmental stages and their needs 
      Individual and group program planning strategies 
      Access to other resources and services
• Assists families and kindergarten staff to plan and implement transition strategies into kindergarten and from kindergarten into school
• Assists with community development and networking.

Inclusion and Professional Support Program - IPSP (in child care)

• Promotes high quality care and inclusion for all children in eligible child care services
• Develops the skills of carers and increases the capacity of child care services by providing professional development, advice and inclusion support.
• Assists child care services to link with other relevant community groups, services and organisations
• Supports child care services to  access the Inclusion Support Subsidy and Flexible Support Funding
• Supports child care services to engage in ongoing reflective and improvement practices using Service Support Plans
