"BFL (SYA Balloon Football League Project) is probably one of the best projects that Nazareth Year 12 VCAL has done for 2 years now. In our 3 days of school, Thursday is the day that we always rock up! When we first became involved in BFL, it was with mixed emotions. Fear and excitement ran through our blood. This was to be our first encounter interacting one on one with the BFL players. We were worried about communicating with [them] and being able to understand [their] needs. We also felt a sense of pride that we could make a difference to the lives of others…" A Balloon Football League Project Participant
"It was wonderful seeing young adults/students, who initially were out of their comfort zone develop confidence and skills that allowed them to break down the barriers that are so often aligned with people with disabilities. The relationships that were formed between students and participants are a credit to Scope and the Scope Young Ambassadors Program." Talented Cricket Player Program teacher – SEDA
This program [SYA Swimlinks Project] broadens the horizons of students who may only have limited exposure to people with a disability and they come away with a very real understanding of the challenges of living with a disability.
