Gastrostomy Support

This competency based workshop, presented by staff from the Gastrostomy Information and Support Society (GISS) includes:

  • Reasons for having a gastrostomy
  • Emotional and social considerations 
  • General care
  • Methods of delivery of intake through the tube
  • Modified medications
  • Trouble shooting and action planning.

On successful completion of a practical and written assessment participants receive a certificate.

Audience

This workshop is suitable for anyone who may support someone who has a gastrostomy or jejunostomy tube.
