Gastrostomy Support
This competency based workshop, presented by staff from the Gastrostomy Information and Support Society (GISS) includes:
- Reasons for having a gastrostomy
- Emotional and social considerations
- General care
- Methods of delivery of intake through the tube
- Modified medications
- Trouble shooting and action planning.
On successful completion of a practical and written assessment participants receive a certificate.
Audience
This workshop is suitable for anyone who may support someone who has a gastrostomy or jejunostomy tube.
