What is Easy English?
Easy English is simplified written information, making documents clear and easy to read, so that a wide range of people can access information they need now.
There are four elements that are essential for good quality Easy English writing:
- Language
- Layout
- Image selection
- Consumer
Easy English supports people with limited literacy to understand written information on a day to day basis.
Who needs information written in Easy English?
- people with an intellectual disability
- people with acquired disabilities
- people aging
- people with mental health issues
- people with limited education
- people for whom English is not their first language
The Accessible Information service can:
