Recreation & Leisure

Leisure activities are managed through Scope Community Inclusion & Development.

Scope Community Inclusion & Development works closely with people with a disability, local government, community recreation and sporting providers, and other specialist services to enhance participation in community life.

More specifically, Scope Community Inclusion & Development aims to do the following:

• Provide information, advice, training and support to community recreation, plus cultural and sporting organisations, to assist with the development of planning appropriate policies, programs and services to support the inclusion of people with a disability.
• Increase the range and diversity of accessible community leisure opportunities in areas such as the arts, health and fitness, outdoor recreation, personal development, sports and social options.
• Provide information and support to people with a disability to develop connections with other people, resources and opportunities in the community to meet their leisure needs.
