Building Advisory Service
The Building Advisory Service (BAS) advises on access related issues in new and existing buildings and community facilties.
Our specialist knowledge of the needs of people with a disability ensures that a best practice environment can be achieved as well as the mandatory requirements of the Building Code of Australia and its referenced Australian Standards.
The Building Advisory Service has recently been involved in:
- The design of residential and respite homes for people with disabilities.
- The development of the design of a specialized centre for people with disabilities.
- Designing change facilities for people with high support needs within local government swimming pools and community centres.
- Providing feedback to a local government in the design of an accessible playground.
- Supporting therapists to improve access in individuals’ homes and community facilities, including kindergartens.
- Providing advice to community organizations seeking to improve the access for people with disabilities in their buildings.
