Accommodation
Scope provides long term accommodation options, allowing people with physical and multiple disabilities the opportunity to live in their homes with the support necessary for a quality lifestyle.
Through provision of personal care and other supports, the work of service staff can enable residents to live within the community. Residents are also assisted with community access and social/recreational networks.
Support is provided to residents at more than 50 different sites across the state, including houses owned by Scope, through private rental, properties belonging to the Office of Housing, and in peoples' own homes.
Accommodation services are situated throughout the Melbourne metropolitan region, and in country Victoria at Bendigo, Geelong, Ballarat and Warragul.
Scope clients increasingly decide for themselves who they live with and where they want to live. Like the rest of the community, people with a disability now live alone, as couples or with their friends. Many people with a disability live in residential aged care facilities, which are not designed to cope with young people with complex needs.
