Test of Problem Solving 3 (Elementary)

What does it assess?
- Problem solving and critical thinking based on language strategies, logic and experience.
Who is it suitable for?
- Normed for children aged aged 0–12.
- Can be used with older individuals with developmental delays, but of the normative data, only age equivalence can be used.
- Must have the ability to comprehend conversational speech – suggested it is used following administration of a receptive language test, such as a TACL, and be used only for those individuals who obtain an age equivalence of at least 6 years.
Who is it not suitable for?
- Children or older individuals with receptive language skills poorer than 6 years.
How is it administered?
- Speech pathologist or psychologist administers the test according to instructions.
How is it scored/ interpreted?
- Scoring is according to a 3 point scale (0-2), with standards provided in the manual.

How does it contribute to a communication assessment for someone with behaviours of concern?
- Contributes to development of a comprehensive communication profile.
