What does it assess?
- Designed to combine traditional with cognitive neuropsychological approaches to assessment of aphasic language.
- Screening tool to evaluate constituent parts of language processing: auditory, verbal output, visual input, written output, semantic processing.
Who is it suitable for?
- Designed for the assessment of aphasia.
- Can be used with adults with other forms of acquired disabilities.
Who is it not suitable for?
- Adults with developmental disabilities.
How is it administered?
- Speech pathologist administers the test according to instructions.
- Takes 45-60 mins.
How is it scored/ interpreted?
- Speech pathologists records response and assigns a score.
- An overall score can be calculated to assist with monitoring change over time, but the examiner should record as much detail as possible, such as cues provided, to obtain a broad picture of the person’s abilities and supports that assist with language.
