Scope @ Shannon Park Appeal Launched in Style
For immediate release: Monday 20th June 2011
Scope is launching their Scope @ Shannon Park Appeal with a dinner on Tuesday 21st June at Baveras, situated in the striking venue on Cunningham Pier.
The event will be attended by individuals renowned in the Geelong community, including Frank Costa, Denis Walter, The Honorable David Koch and Linda Martin.
The exclusive launch will provide members of the Geelong community and their businesses with the opportunity to support the redevelopment of Scope’s Shannon Park Centre; a vital community centred project.
Scope’s Shannon Park Centre is the only service for people with physical disabilities and complex needs in the Greater Geelong district. The new centre will meet the current and future requirements of Scope and the people Scope supports. The new centre will be built on the current Shannon Avenue, Newtown site and be operational early 2012.
“This Centre is an integral part of Geelong, with strong ties to community,” said Diana Heggie, Scope’s CEO. “As the development progresses, Scope will continue to need the support of the local community, particularly with fundraising for a portion of the costs.”
Scope needs the communities support throughout 2011 to raise the additional $1.245 million needed for the redevelopment.
