Scope-A-Thon

Scope clients, friends and families, were invited to cheer on the participants of the Scope-A-Thon on Thursday, 3 December at Central Pier, Docklands.

As part of the UN International Day of People With A Disability, Scope hosted the media event called the Scope-A-Thon.

The event highlighted the barriers people with a disability face every day.

Participants competed in scenarios such as manoeuvring wheelchairs through an obstacle course and having to order from a cafe menu without speaking.

There was great audience participation during the event (booing and hissing negative attitudes and cheering positive ones) as well as lots of clapping and cheering.

Channel 10, Channel 7, Fox Sport News, the Herald Sun and The Age attended the event.

The event was held at the back of Central Pier.
