Scope’s clients participate in No Drama Community Production

17 people with a disability who Scope supports are looking forward to taking part in the annual No Drama Community Production which will be taking place on Thursday 14th October at the Mornington Peninsula Community Theatre from 10am to 2pm.

Scope together with Woorinyan Community Services, P.A.S.T, Blairlogie and Konnections will be part of the No Drama Community Production. Last year the event attracted an audience of 350 people. Each of the five organisations will be performing their own drama piece.

A community grant has enabled the five organisations to come together. The key outcomes of the project are disability services working together as one, building inclusive communities, enhancing community relationships and increasing community awareness about disability.

Three of the performers, Carl, Chris and Craig, who attend Scope’s Don Tattnell Day and Lifestyle Options in Parkdale will be performing in the production. These performers are part of the “Great Escapes” and “The Minglers” drama groups, run by the Scope Community Inclusion and Development Team, Southern Region for the past 6 years.

The Great Escapes and The Minglers are working on a short film presentation which will be shown on the day called "Beauty's Where You Find It - A behind the Scenes Sneak Peak!" showcasing their drama skills through a video presentation in a documentary style.

No Drama Community Production is an event open to the general public, entry to the event is through a gold coin donation.
