New residential service on track to open
A new home in Bendigo for five young people with a disability is on track to open next year.
Scope has been awarded the contract to run the new Bendigo house as part of the My Futures My Choice initiative.
The My Future My Choice initiative is a joint State and Commonwealth partnership aimed at reducing the number of younger people with a disability living in, or at risk of living in, residential aged care facilities.
Scope is currently looking for staff who would like to work in the new house. Potential staff need to be committed to supporting people to live the way they want.
“This new house will bring a sense of belonging, something many of us take for granted. At Scope we empower people with a disability to explore and take part in their community. Scope is looking for staff who will support residents to access the communities of their choice,” said Diana Heggie, Scope CEO.
For further information on becoming a staff member at the new house, please call Mary Sullivan, Regional Manager, Scope on 5442 2000 or msullivan@scopevic.org.au.
