Glen Park Community Centre Wins Disability Service Award

Glen Park Community Centre Manager Robyn Murray is a strong advocate for the community inclusion of people with a disability.

It is this commitment to driving attitudinal change that won the local centre a Scope Community Partnership Award at the Telstra Dome on Friday, November 7.

The award recognises Ms Murray’s tireless efforts during the past year in partnering with Scope to create opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in life at Glen Park Community Centre as well as on a broader societal level.

Scope’s Ringwood Day and Lifestyle Service Coordinator Wendy Jensen said Ms Murray’s passion and commitment had been paramount in securing government funding for developing accessible and welcoming space at Glen Park for people with a disability.

"Robyn’s attitude is reflective of her approach to her work, policy and procedures at the centre, as well as the centre’s café and classes – all of which are welcoming to people of all abilities," Ms Jensen said.

"She is a real pioneer and works towards inclusion for all.’’
