Diana Heggie to retire as Scope’s CEO

Diana Heggie, Chief Executive Officer of Scope has made the decision to retire, effective September 30th 2011.
Diana has worked at Scope for the past 25 years, including the past five years as CEO. Prior to becoming CEO, she was deputy CEO for four years and ran Scope’s Client Services for over ten years.
“Diana has spent the last 25 years championing the rights of people with a disability here at Scope. She has been a natural leader and will be sorely missed” said Alasdair Norton, Scope’s President.
In her time at Scope, Diana has developed the Scope brand, put Scope on the radar of government, communities, the media and the public. Diana’s work and passion has made Scope one of the leaders in the disability sector and she has empowered clients voices to be heard at all levels of Government.
She has personally been a major voice and advocate for change for the sector, in her role as Vice President and long term member of NDS, President of Cerebral Palsy Australia and a Director of Ability First Australia.
The Scope Board will be considering options for filling the substantial shoes that Diana leaves over the coming months.
