Scope-A-Thon
It was always going to be stiff competition for Scope community educators Cam West and Lachlan Jones, considering the line-up of talent in the Scope-A-Thon as part of UN International Day of People With Disabilities.
Footballers Nathan Brown (former Richmond), Brad Ottens (Geelong), Nathan Grima and Jack Ziebell (North Melbourne), the Honourable Bill Shorten (Parliamentary Secretary for Disabilities and Children’s Services) and World Aerobics Champion, Sue Stanley were all eager to meet the challenge of the relay race with their prides at stake.
The Scope-A-Thon was a lighthearted event aimed at highlighting the achievements of people with a disability. The relay race allowed the participants to experience some of the barriers faced by people with a disability as part of their daily lives.
