6 months on and Aleacia is on her way

Scope client, 31/2 year old Aleacia was fitted with a specially designed walking frame, a David Hart Walker in October 2009, 6 months on and she is enjoying her new found independence.
Aleacia and her family attended the ‘Walk for an Aussie Kid,’ picnic at Navan Park, Melton recently.
The picnic, organised by the Lions Club, hoped to raise additional funds to allow further Hart Walkers to be purchased for children like Aleacia.
There was a walkathon around the lake together with a race for GoKids clients who use Walkers.
After taking her first independent steps last October, Aleacia who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of one, loves the freedom that her Hart Walker has brought her.
“It was an amazing moment when Aleacia was fitted with the Hart Walker in October. We didn’t realise how tall she was until she stood up.
The smile on her face is priceless when she is walking,” said Leanne, Aleacia’s mum.
“We as a family couldn’t have got through what we have been through if it hadn’t been for Scope.
Scope makes things so much easier”. Hart Walkers are provided by GoKids, the Children’s Mobility Advisory Service of Scope.
Scope relies on the support from organisations like the Lions Club and donations from the public to be able to provide walkers to children like Aleacia. For additional information on GoKids.
