Trusts & Foundations

Image of elderly women and man in wheelchairScope has a regular program in place for submitting grant applications to philanthropic Trusts & Foundations to support a number of innovative projects.

Through the generosity of various Trusts & Foundations, projects such as the Scope Equipment Fund and the GoKids Mobility Program, have been able to provide tangible assistance to children and adults with disabilities to purchase the essential equipment they need to live their lives.

Funds raised from Trusts & Foundations have also enabled Scope to educate school children and the community about disability through the Scope Young Ambassadors program and invest funds in major research programs which work towards creating a better life for people with a disability.

Scope has also been successful in receiving funds from philanthropic-minded individuals and families who choose to support us through their Private Ancillary Fund.

Without the generosity of Trusts & Foundations and the owners of Private Ancillary Funds, Scope could not continue to do the work it does.

What is a Private Ancillary Fund?

A Private Ancillary Fund (PAF) involves an individual, family or corporate entity setting up a Trust, with a lump sum donation, which is then invested.  The income from this investment then becomes a tax effective way to donate to a good cause either as a once-off donation or on an ongoing basis.

Scope is fully set up with the necessary documentation including Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and Endorsement for Charity Tax Concession certification, ready to accept donations from PAFs.

Setting up a PAF and providing the investment income to Scope is an ideal way to give an ongoing gift to those living with a disability.

If you would like to know more about how to support people with a disability by donating to Scope through your Private Ancillary Fund, please email Michelle Caldwell, Manager Trusts & Foundations or phone (03) 9843 3013.
