Light up a smile on a child's face this Christmas!
For a child living with a disability that prevents them from walking, it is not toys or a stocking full of goodies that would make their smiles shine the brightest.
Rather, it would be the ability to take their first steps.
There are 19 children on Scope's GoKids waiting list.
These children have the potential to walk.
Yet sadly, might never be given the chance, simply because they cannot access the right equipment.
As a result these children risk being deprived of many of the opportunities that so many of us take for granted.

This Christmas we are turning to you for support today because Scope needs to raise $228,000.
The amount we need to supply and fit Hart Walkers – a life changing piece of equipment – to the 19 children on our list who desperately need them.
A kind and generous donation could allow Scope to give a waiting child and their family some truly wonderful news before Christmas.
Give Laura a chance to walk
For little four year old Laura Gleneagle, the chances of walking without the aid of a Hart Walker is extremely slim. This gorgeous little girl has really had a challenging start to life. Born with Cerebral Palsy and severe Epilepsy, Laura currently lacks coordination and strength in her limbs, leaving her unable to walk and only able to crawl.
Yet given the correct equipment – equipment like a Hart Walker – Laura could walk.
Just like Laura are children on our waiting list, who you can take action to ensure do not have to face the prospect of never being able to walk. You can support the GoKids Program in various ways:
$20 could help with a first step
A Christmas gift of $20 could help a family with the costs for their child to undertake a GoKids assessment – their first step towards getting a Hart Walker.
This assessment determines what kind of mobility equipment will best suit the child.
$50 could help fit a child with a Hart Walker
A gift of $50 could help Scope support a family with a fitting of their child with a Hart Walker, and associated physiotherapy and orthotic expenses. A child must be carefully measured and fitted so the Walker does exactly what it is meant to do – support them comfortably as they learn to walk.
$100 could help purchase a Hart Walker
A gift of $100 could go towards the purchase of a Hart Walker so that a child can begin taking their first steps and explore the world with confidence.
