Margaret is a Life Member at Scope, having been a member for over 20 years.
Occupation?
Home body
Why did you become a member of Scope?
My mum and dad used to be involved with the Spastic Children’s Society in the old days. My mum would volunteer at the Dame Mary Herring Centre and I used to go along with her to help. I was in my twenties then. I would work during the week, but on the weekends mum and I would go to the Centre and help feed the children and spend time with them.
What are your hobbies?
Collecting stamps and postcards.
Do you attend the AGM?
Yes I do. It is important that members attend the AGM so that they sit up and listen ‘hopefully’ to what is happening at Scope.
What is your favourite type of music?
I love classical music. My favourite composer is Beethoven.
Any words of guidance for new members?
Keep smiling and always be able to do things for others. It is important to take care of others.
