'Supported Employment Services Volunteer' Position Description
Description of the Scope Program: 'Supported Employment Services'
Scope Supported Employment Services (formerly sheltered workshops) provide valuable employment opportunities for people with disabilities as well as a range of affordable services to the community including; assembly, packaging, labelling, mailing services and food packaging.
Locations of the Positions:
Scope Supported Employment Services are;
· High Point Industries - Maribyrnong
· Knox Combined Industries - Wantirna
· South East Industries - Clayton
· Shannon Park Industries - Geelong
Description of the Positions:
Volunteers support employees with disabilities in a wide variety of packaging and production tasks. Some jobs are cyclic by nature, others are long term contacts.
Volunteers also support employees informally, encouraging positive social and work related behaviours. Volunteers may also assist with clerical administrative tasks.
Days / Times required:
Scope Supported Employment Services generally operate between 9am - 4pm Monday to Friday. You decide how much time you would like to offer!
Personal Attributes / Skills required:
No formal qualifications are necessary. Your skills and interests will be matched to existing program needs. An interest in assisting people with disabilities to maximise their potential would be an advantage.
Other Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of the Volunteer screening process, including an initial Interview, a police Check and reference check is required.
Supervision, Support & Training:
Volunteers are supervised and supported by Scope Staff members.
Volunteers receive orientation as well as individual and on-going training.
