'Day & Lifestyles Options Volunteer' Position Description
Description of the Scope Program: 'Day & Lifestyle Options'
Scope Day and Lifestyle Options provide a range of centre-based and community-based programs for people with disabilities. Programs include educational and recreational activities such as; computer skills, life skills, personal development and well being, leisure activities and creative arts.
Locations of the Positions:
Scope Day and Lifestyle Options are situated throughout Scope's metropolitan and rural locations including;
Metropolitan:
- Eastern: Wantirna, Syndal, Lilydale and Ringwood
- Southern: Malvern, Chelsea, Parkdale, Carnegie and Noble Park
- Northern: Pascoe Vale
- Western: St Albans, Maidstone and Moonee Ponds
Rural:
- Barwon: Newtown and Manifold Heights
- Loddon Mallee: Bendigo
- Gippsland: Warragul
Description of the Positions:
Volunteers support people with disabilities to participate in a range of centre-based and community-based activities.
Centre-based activities include; reading, story telling, computer programs, exercise programs, gardening, cooking, music and art and craft.
Community-based activities include; swimming, gym, movies, bowling, playing pool, shopping and library visits.
Days / Times required:
Day and Lifestyle Programs generally operate between 10am - 3pm Monday to Friday. You decide how much time you would like to offer!
Personal Attributes / Skills required:
No formal qualifications are necessary. Your skills and interests will be matched to existing program needs. An interest in assisting people with disabilities to maximise their potential would be an advantage.
Other Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of the Volunteer screening process, including an initial Interview, a police Check and reference check is required.
Supervision, Support & Training:
Volunteers are supervised and supported by Scope Staff members.
Volunteers receive orientation as well as individual and on-going training.
