'Accommodation Services Volunteer' Position Description
Description of the Scope Program: 'Accommodation Services'
Scope Accommodation services support people with disabilities to enable them live in a variety of settings depending on the differing levels of support needed. People may live in shared accommodation settings or in their own home. Respite services are also offered to give carers and their family members a break from their everyday routines.
Locations of the Positions:
Scope Accommodation services are situated throughout Scope's metropolitan and rural locations including;
Metropolitan:
- Eastern: Glen Waverley, Mt Waverley, Boronia, Bayswater, Lilydale and Nunawading
- Southern: Ripponlea, Clayton, East Malvern, Parkdale, Moorabbin, Edithvale, McKinnon, Bentleigh, Ormond and Mordialloc
- Northern: Coburg, Glenroy, Reservoir, Bundoora and Preston
- Western: St Albans, Keilor Downs, Footscray and Sunshine
Rural:
- Barwon: Belmont
- Loddon Mallee: Bendigo
- Gippsland: Traralgon, Warragul
- Grampians: Ballarat
Description of the Positions:
Volunteers support residents with disabilities to experience varying activities and interests and develop social interactions and friendships. Volunteers also assist residents take part in recreational and/or community programs.
Days / Times required:
Volunteers are required on weeknights and during the days or on weekends.

Personal Attributes / Skills required:
No formal qualifications are necessary. Your skills and interests will be matched to existing needs. An interest in assisting people with disabilities to maximise their potential would be an advantage.
Other Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of the Volunteer screening process, including an initial Interview, a police Check and reference check is required.
Supervision, Support & Training:
Volunteers are supervised and supported by Scope Staff members.
Volunteers receive orientation as well as individual and on-going training.
