Scope Corporate Governance
Scope is now one of the largest providers of services to people with a disability in Victoria, and one of the largest not-for-profit organisations in Australia. In line with its essential role in the Victorian community and its status as a company limited by guarantee, Scope is committed to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance. Recently the ASX Corporate Governance Council (The Council) published the "Principles of Good Corporate Governance and Best Practice Recommendations, upon which the ASX's own Corporate Governance Statement is based. These Guidelines are now considered best practice for listed companies in Australia, and are, for the most part, applicable to Scope.
Scope has taken and modified (where appropriate) these principles to form this document, the Scope (Vic) Ltd Corporate Governance Policy. This statement is structured along the same lines as The Council's guidelines with sections dealing with each of The Council's 10 corporate governance principles. The statement is structured to provide clarity and flexibility to Board, management and other stakeholders, and it will be reviewed regularly.
